To Those Who Wait

A big fraction of a human’s life is devoted to waiting. And as you wait, there can be a lot of things that will happen like pain and suffering. You’ll get tired on the road and just want to go back to square one.

I know because I’ve been there, too. Sometimes uncertainty will haunt you and leave you confused and lost. So I just want to encourage you with these verses that helped me and could help you, too, go through the waiting for your breakthrough.

And the Lord answered me, “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.”
Habakkuk 2:2 ESV

The prerequisite of waiting is to pray for it. Write it down and pray and ask God for it. Do a journal of your praise reports and prayer requests, and what God will reveal to you will be a testimony to others about His goodness.

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 ESV

Do not wait idly. Wait on the Lord and not on your own abilities or on other people. Waiting on people—even on yourself—can be disappointing because humans fail. God does not. And He alone knows the best, so waiting on Him will never tire you.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV

Everything that comes from God and happens in God’s time is beautiful. Just imagine it like a singer singing to the right timing and beat of the instruments. The harmony is so pleasing. Just like that is how God synchronize the happening of things in the right time. It’s beautiful.

Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.
Psalm 90:12 NLT

Don’t slack off while waiting. Keep on growing and becoming more of a godly person each day. While waiting for the blessings, have more of God in every step of the way by reading His word and obeying His will.

But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.
Micah 7:7 ESV

The waiting is not linear. It may be an oscillation or it may comprise of random detours. But continue to look on God because in the lowest times, He will always be your salvation. In confusion, He’s the only one that you can be sure of.

Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.
Psalm 27:14 NLT

Be brave and get out of your comfort zone. You know you’re weak and imperfect, but in weakness and imperfection, let His strength and perfection be magnified. Yes you are weak but He is strong.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 ESV

Don’t rush on waiting. If it doesn’t come right away, it’s not the season for it yet. Continue sowing. Tend them and grow them the right way—no shortcuts. Be patient as they take time to mature. The right time to reap will come.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

[Everybody’s favorite :D]

The breakthrough you’re believing for might never come, or it may need way more time that you have imagined. You may even have stopped praying for it and you lost your faith. But hear this: there’s something else prepared for you. Don’t get blinded by the only thing that you’ve been asking, because God can do a lot more than that. There’s a great future ahead of you that has already been set beforehand. Praise God for it today!

Stay expectant and hopeful on God. Keep on mind that the goal in that breakthrough is to glorify God with it. For He is greater than anything that He gives.

  1. This is such an encouraging reminder! The Lord has been reminding me of Habakkuk 2:2, so it was neat that you shared that verse. Writing the vision is a great next step in having faith that God will supply for ALL our needs. Blessings to you my sister in Christ!
